To help you prepare your boat charter as smoothly as possible, we have gathered here the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our services.
1. Booking and rates
Send us a request via our website or by email at info@voilier-location, clearly specifying your preferred dates and the type of boat you are looking for.
Cheque, bank transfer, secure credit card payment link, cash, holiday vouchers.
In case of cancellation:

More than 6 months before the charter, only administration fees apply.

Less than 6 months before the charter, deposits paid are retained by the charter company.
In case of modification or postponement of the charter, no administration fees are charged by the charter company.
2. Charter terms and conditions
No, no licence is required to charter a sailing yacht.
The skipper’s sailing résumé, which will be reviewed by our team.
2 days outside the summer season and 1 week in July and August.
During the summer season, charters start on Saturday morning and end the following Friday by 3:00 pm at the latest.
Yes, a security deposit is required and can be provided by cheque or credit card.

3. Onboard Equipment & Comfort
No, there is no onboard Wi-Fi on our boats.
Most yachts in the fleet are equipped with USB sockets.
Yes, this is entirely possible; an additional cleaning fee will apply.
4. Charter Process
Handover with our team takes place from 9:00 am, and boats must be returned by 3:00 pm at the latest.
Yes, of course. You carry out the inventory independently, then a member of our team will conduct a handover with you at the pontoon.
The office during opening hours — during the high season, an on-call emergency number will be provided.
5. Sailing & Destinations
No, there are no restrictions imposed by CFC other than those related to the characteristics of the chartered boat:
draft, offshore equipment (or not), and hazardous areas indicated on the nautical charts.
In La Trinité-sur-Mer, before 15 June, it is easy to find free parking spaces, even for a full week.
During the summer season, the municipality sets up an external parking area with shuttle services.
If you do not have a car on site, the only options are Carrefour City or the market on Tuesdays and Fridays.
If you have a car, you can also go to Intermarché in Crac’h or Super U in Carnac. Intermarché also offers a delivery service.
We monitor the weather before each charter. If the forecast does not allow for safe sailing conditions, we will offer to reschedule your booking.
6. Security and insurance
Yes, all our boats are insured for charter use.
The boats are fully insured (all risks) for charter use. In the event of a claim, the amount charged will not exceed the security deposit / deductible applicable to the chartered boat.
7. Skipper & Additional Options
Yes, of course. Simply let us know, and we will find the skipper best suited to your needs.
The skipper’s fee is €350 incl. VAT per day.
The cleaning package is mandatory, and its price depends on the size of the boat.
As optional extras, we also offer an outboard engine for the dinghy, bedding, and the possibility to stay overnight on board the evening before departure.
The spinnaker is included on all our monohulls, and a dinghy is included on all our boats.
We can also direct you to partner companies for renting additional sports equipment.
8. Experience & Advice
You will need to discuss your experience with our team.
The simplest approach is to inform the charter company and discuss your plans with the team to benefit from their expertise. Make sure to choose a charter company with a solid and reliable reputation.
Yes, provided you feel well and there is no medical contraindication.
Make sure to sail with an experienced and attentive crew.
Several anti-seasickness methods can be effective: medication, patches, wristbands, etc.
You should also make sure not to sail on an empty stomach and to stay warm.
